Expert help

We’ll help you assess, plan and implement the population of information from your existing shopping cart and systems to make sure you get the maximum benefit from this feature.

How does it work?

The Cart Connect plug in has a Cart API (see above) which is unique to every type of vendor cart. The code in this API ‘talks’ to the Cart via function calls which relays commands and information in both directions between the vendor cart and Cart Connect.

When salesorder needs to communicate with the vendor it sends commands and information to the Cart Connect which then ‘translates’ via the Cart API into commands and information that can be understood by the vendor cart. When the vendor cart needs to communicate with salesorder, it sends commands and information to the Cart API, which are then ‘translated’ by Cart Connect and relayed to salesorder.

How do I get my vendor cart working with Cart Connect?

There are three methods by which you can get your cart connected

  1. You develop the code to insert into the Cart API
  2. We develop the code for you to insert into the Cart API
  3. We provide you with the code we have already developed

How can my developer get up to speed and implement the Cart API?

We provide documentation and a code template containing an example of the Cart API working with Prestashop, a popular vendor cart. Your developer writes the code ‘stubs’ and substitutes these for the example code included in the code template.

What sort of skills will my developer need to write the code stubs for the Cart API?

Your developer should be familiar with your vendor cart’s software architecture and be proficient in the relevant program language.
