Print Documents
Salesorder prints Documents in PDF format. There is a Print action on every Sales and Purchasing Document. The Print action calls the local print function on your device e.g. Windows PC or Apple Mac.
Use the local printing function to direct the printed Document to your printers.
Printing multiple Documents
On every List, there is a Print action. You can select the Documents you want Print by checking the box on the left-hand side of each Document. When you click the Print action, Salesorder will call the local print function on your device e.g. Windows PC or Apple Mac.
Configure Document Design
You can define the design of your Documents using the Document template editor. It is common to all Sales and Purchasing Documents.
To configure the design of your Documents, go to:
Document > Configure > New Template
Or
Document > Configure > Document Templates section > Select from the default list of templates
For example, to configure the design of Sales Invoice document, go to:
SALES > Sales Invoices > Select a Sales Invoice document > View Sales Invoice > Configure > New Template
Or
SALES > Sales Invoices > Select a Sales Invoice document > View Sales Invoice > Configure > Sales Invoice Templates section > Select from default templates list
You can adapt one of these options or create your own design from scratch.
There are two options to configure the design of your Documents:
1. Using a Template
a. Set the Default Document Template
To set the default Document template, go to:
Document (e.g.. Sales Invoice) > Configure > Edit
In ‘Document Templates‘ section, select default templates from drop down.
b. Edit the Document Template
To edit Document template, go to:
Document (e.g. Sales Invoice) > Configure > Edit
In ‘Document Templates‘ section, select one of the default templates in the table > View > Edit
The following tabs are available – Print Styles, Header, Fields, Columns, Footer (Custom Print Style explained in the section below)
Open and review these tabs to configure the Document structure and format.
2. Using a Custom Print Style
CAUTION! Geek Stuff.
To access this option, go to:
Document (e.g. Sales Invoice) > Configure > Edit
In ‘Document Templates‘ section, select one of the default templates in the table > View > Edit > Custom Print Style tab.
You can configure any form of design using the Custom Print Style.
Custom styles are specified in the XSL Formatting Objects standard. The purpose of XSL-FO is to provide a mechanism for formatting XML data for print, screen, and other output media.
XSL-FO, also known simply as XSL, is a specification of the World Wide Web Consortium and is closely related to XSLT.
However, whereas XSLT is most often used for transforming XML into HTML or other XML structures, XSL-FO is most often used for formatting XML for print.
We can set up and design the Documents for you.
