Shipping

Shipping tab in the WMS console enables you to perform the PACK and SHIP operations in the Pick-Pack-Ship process.

Shipping: Screen Overview

Click on the cog icon to toggle column visibility in respective panes.

Shipments pane

This pane lists all the Shipments ready to Pack | Ship in the Pick-Pack-Ship workflow.

The following fields are displayed:

  • Customer: Customer Name.
  • Ship To: Shipping Address.
  • SO#: Sales Order Reference #.
  • Shipment#: Shipment Reference #,
  • Status: Shipment Status,
  • Ship via: Name of the Shipping partner e.g. FEDEX,
  • Ship method: e.g. FEDEX Ground, FEDEX Priority overnight,
  • Ship Date: Shipment Dispatch Date,
  • Delivery Date: Shipment Delivery Date as updated by the Shipping Partner,
  • Priority: Shipment Priority,
  • Gross wt: Gross weight of the Shipment,
  • Packages: Total number of packages ,
  • Pallets: Number of Pallets,
  • Cost(USD): Shipping Cost,
  • Tracking#: Tracking number assigned to the Shipment.
List Shipments Lists all Shipments in the Ready to Pack or Ready to Ship status.

Merge You can select multiple Shipments of the same Customer and merge them as a single Shipment.

On clicking Merge, a popup window is displayed for merging the Shipments.

The List of Shipments to be merged are displayed on the left side. On the right side, the details for the merged Shipments are displayed as follows:

  • Shipment: The merged Shipment will be identified using the Shipment number selected in this field.
    If Shipments are in different status e.g. Shipment A is Ready to Pack and Shipment B is Ready to Ship, then Shipment B is made the parent Shipment on merging.
  • Ship date: Dispatch date for the merged Shipment.
  • Shipping Address: You can select a Shipping Address for the merged Shipments from the dropdown.
  • Ship via: Shipping Partner e.g. FEDEX
  • Ship method: e.g. FEDEX Ground, FEDEX Priority overnight.
After the Shipments are merged, the parent Shipment is displayed with a + sign, and all the child Shipments are listed below it.

Note: You cannot merge Shipments belonging to different Customers.
Remove from Merge This is the opposite of Merge function.

After the Shipments are merged, if you wish to remove any of the child Shipments from the merge, select the child Shipment and click Remove from Merge.

Note: Shipments in Ready to Ship status cannot be removed from the Merged Shipments using the Remove from Merge option.

Once Ready to Ship Shipments are merged, the action cannot be undone.
Confirm Ready to Ship You can select Shipments that are packed and mark them as Ready to Ship. This action changes the status of the Shipment to Ready to Ship.
Ship This option is applicable for Shipments in Ready to Ship status. You can select the Shipments and update their status to Shipped.
Print Packing Slips Prints the Packing List | Delivery Note.

Delivery Notes enable the Customer to check what was delivered against what they bought for reconciliation purposes.

You can print Delivery Note document using this option.
Print Shipping Labels Prints the Shipping Labels.

Using this option, you can print the shipping labels in PDF | PNG formats, after you have registered a dispatch through your Shipping Partner.

A shipping carrier plugin must be configured to enable you to buy shipments.

Salesorder can connect to shipping service providers through EasyPost integration.

Find Opens a popup box to find Shipments based on the following criteria:

  • Ref#,
  • Status (Any, Ready to Pack, Ready to Ship)
  • Customer Name,
  • Shipping Address.
Select (row | Shipment) List all the line items in the selected Shipment under Boxes pane.
Edit (row | Edit Shipment) Enables you to edit the following fields in the Shipment:

  • Ship via,
  • Shipping method,
  • Ship Date,
  • Tracking#,
  • Gross wt.,
  • Shipping Cost,
  • No. of Pallets.
This option is used to update the shipping details manually, when no shipping carrier plugin is configured.

In case the plugin is configured, the shipping details are updated using the Options pane.

Boxes pane

Lists all the line items in the selected Shipment.

All the unpacked line items are displayed under UNPACKED node.

The packed line items are displayed under the corresponding Box nodes(boxes in which items are packed).

By default, all the information is displayed in the Box view.
Item View | Box View In the Item view, the line items are grouped and displayed by Items. The following fields are displayed:

  • Box Tag,
  • Type,
  • Size,
  • Gross wt.,
  • Qty.
Box View is the default view. The line items in the selected Shipments, are grouped and displayed by the Boxes in which they are packed.

The following details are displayed in the Box view:

  • Item,
  • Description,
  • Quantity.
Add box This option will open a popup window through which you can add a new Box to pack the line items.

It displays a list of unpacked Items and options to pack Items in the new Box.

You can define a tag name and choose a Box Type here. You can also specify details like barcode, tracking number , shipping cost and gross weight.
Edit (Box) This option is available only in the Box View.

You can edit the Box details using this option. A popup window is displayed which will enable the user to pack | unpack the items in the Box.

You can specify a tag name for the Box, choose Box type, mention the packing, shipping details and weight of all the items packed in the Box.
Delete (Box) This option is available only in the Box View.

Clicking Delete against a Box will unpack all the Items in the Box and delete the Box. All Items in the deleted Box will be listed under Unpacked node.

Options pane

Salesorder can connect to shipping service providers through EasyPost integration.

Options pane is used when you have a shipping carrier plugin like EasyPost integrated to Salesorder.

It displays:

  • details of the packed boxes along with Rate Summary | Rate Details,
  • gets real time rates from the Shipping Partner and
  • enables users to register a dispatch with the Shipping Partner.
Rate Details | Rate Summary Displays the details of the packed boxes.

Rate Details displays the following:

  • Ship via,
  • Shipping method,
  • Shipping Cost,
  • Ship Date,
  • Delivery Date.
  • Box details like Box tag, Box type, Sixe, Barcode, Gross wt., Shipping cost and tracking#.
Rate Summary is editable and it displays the following:

  • Shipment#,
  • Ship Date,
  • Delivery Date.
  • Ship via(editable),
  • Shipping method(editable).
Get Rates Once the Shipments are packed, you can use this option to get the rates from your Shipping Partner in real time.

To enable this functionality, you need to configure a shipping carrier plugin like EasyPost.

Buy Shipment Using this option, you can directly register a dispatch with your Shipping Partner.

A shipping carrier plugin must be configured to enable you to buy shipments.

After you register a dispatch (Buy Shipment), the tracking number will be available.

You can print shipping labels for dispatch after you receive the tracking number.

A shipping carrier plugin must be configured to enable you to buy Shipments.
